A Message from our Director

My name is Paul Dickson and I have a secret.

I HATE the cold!

I was born and raised in Cold Deer, Alberta, Canada (a mile or so from the North Pole). The winters there are fierce - just something horrible - with minus 40 degrees wind-chill factors, blizzards that shut everything down for weeks, and an average snowfall of 20 feet!

Why my parents settled in Cold Deer is a riddle that will never be solved, but their choice made my life MISERABLE. Every winter was worse than the last, until finally, at the age of 20, I made my big break and headed down south - to Montreal, Canada.

I quickly discovered that Montreal is a little bit warmer than Cold Deer, but not by much. I still suffered from the winter cold.

Finally, in a fit of desperation, I left Canada and went to Taiwan, land of the typhoons and tropical storms.

Taiwan is HOT, but hot is better than cold in my books. It was like heaven when I got off the plane in January, 2003, and felt the warm, humid air on my face.

The weather that January was mild and comfortable, but by February a cold front had pushed over the island. It was nothing by Canadian standards, but in Taiwan, there is NO CENTRAL HEATING! I was back to suffering, albeit on a smaller scale.

I complained about the cold to everyone within earshot, and good thing I did too. A friend told me about a new product that was being manufactured in Taiwan - HEATED CLOTHING!

This sounded like a gift from the gods. I had to find out more.

Unfortunately for me, heated clothing in Taiwan is an export-only commodity. I couldn't find any retail outlet where I could buy some. But I found out where it was being manufactured and contacted the factory owner.

I went to visit the factory and had a tour of the impressive, modern plant. I saw how the heated clothing was manufactured and how the technology was used for various types of clothing. I was extremely impressed by the range of heated clothing and its stylish appearance.

I had to have some!

The factory owner was a nice guy and let me have a heated vest at cost. The rest of that winter, I was basking in comfort. For the first time in my life I could laugh at the cold!

The winter after my discovery of heated clothing, I returned to Canada to visit friends and family. Everyone was amazed that I was able to enjoy the cold weather. They wondered what had caused this radical change.

When I told them about heated clothing, everyone wanted some! I immediately realized: This is a Great Product! One of those technological innovations that improves living standards.

The goal of the Winter Comfort website is simple - eradicate winter suffering! I want every man, woman, and child to TAKE BACK THE WINTER! Don't suffer in the cold. Don't break the bank by turning up the furnace. Heated clothing can give you Winter Comfort no matter where you are!

I was doing research on new trends of outdoor clothing and came upon this. I too
hate winter makes my whole body hurt. I was really happy when I ran across this
website of yours. Do you carry kids heated clothing? Who are your major
competitors. I really don't see that you have any. As, you can probably tell I
am a marketing student at Capella UNI doing a research paper.
my email is

Thank you for your
time.

I have searched in vain for a pair of heated quarterback gloves. My son has
Raynaud's and plays QB in cold weather. I believe that there is a market for a
"Cutter's" style glove with an integrated chemical heat pack, but can't
find one. I am also seeking an engineer that could help create a prototype.
Please let me know your thoughts - thanks.
