FabRoc - Heated Clothing Wonder Material

Heated clothing from exo² uses an exciting new product called FabRocTM. This flexible polymer material is heated by low voltage, and is flexible enough to be configured into almost any shape.

There are no wires in FabRocTM.  This makes it much safer than other wire-based heated clothing products. FabRocTM can be stretched, slit, or torn and still continue to operate.

FabRocTM is the ideal material for heated clothing, since it can never overheat. As it approaches the desired temperature, the polymer material draws less power. It maintains the proper temperature for heated clothing by self-regulating its power consumption. Power sources such as batteries can provide longer heating time with FabRocTM heated clothing.

Heated Clothing and More

FabRocTM is a boon to heated clothing, but it has many other applications. Since FabRocTM is less than 1mm thick, it can be used in a variety of heated clothing products such as gloves, jackets, vests, inner soles, and belts.

FabRocTM technology has potential uses in medical equipment, search and rescue gear, and many other applications where uniform, constant heat is needed.

The beauty of FabRocTM technology is that it creates a heated environment with no hot spots. It relies on Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) technology to maintain constant temperatures and drawing very little electrical current.
